Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

Student Drop Off Time:  7:20 - 7:45 AM
Student Pick Up Time:  2:20PM

Students will be dropped off and picked up in our new, larger parking lot.  Buses will use the smaller parking lot located in the back of the school. 

MORNING (A.M.)

• Whether traveling east (from Wenchelsa Road) or west (from Westridge Road) on Pinetop Rd., please only make RIGHT TURNS.  You may turn around in the church parking lot if you are traveling east.  This will enable traffic to flow continuously.  Things should run smoothly, if everyone follows the arrows to drop students off at the correct location. 

• Please pull into the parking lot (SLOWLY), travel to the back of the lot and pull around the curve.  Claxton Staff Members will direct you to where you can drop your students off.  Second and Third grade students traveling to the Annex and the Quad may exit at the awning by the Media Center.  All other students will exit on the sidewalk and enter the school through the front entrance. 

• Drive away only when you are directed to do so by Claxton Staff Members.

• Please drive slowly through the parking lot to the exit.  ONLY turn to the RIGHT as you leave the parking lot.

• If you would like to walk your child to his/her class on the first day of school (this is not recommended after the first week), please park in the church parking lot, cross the street at the cross walk, and then walk in the back of the school where car riders are being dropped off to enter the building. 

AFTERNOON (P.M.)

• Whether traveling east (from Wenchelsa Road) or west (from Westridge Road) on Pinetop Rd., please only make RIGHT TURNS.  You may turn around in the church parking lot if you are traveling east. 

• Put your yellow name sign in the front window of your car.  Claxton Staff members will read your sign when you pull around the curve in the parking lot and call for your child to move to a designated area for you to pick them up.

• Please park where you are directed to and only drive off after you are told to by a Claxton Staff member.

• Drive slowly and carefully.  ONLY turn to the RIGHT as you leave the parking lot.  

• If you wish to have your child picked up by someone else, advanced written permission from you must be provided.

BUSES

• Riding the school bus is an option for all students within our school's district.  Students are expected to behave responsibly while riding the bus.
